Son & Heir
Son & Heir
When Son & Heir got together in 2013, the focus was mainly on enjoying time spent playing and crafting heavy rock music that links back to the group's collective hardcore and punk roots. The first year was spent getting to know one another, initially focusing on purely instrumental music. It became obvious to the group that the songs begged for vocals. After almost a year long search for a vocalist, Son & Heir filled their vocal need internally with both Tyler Richardson (guitar) and JT Bielan (bass) stepping in to the role. "We found that tuning down to C or B really allowed for the guys to find a place that fit both the music and their vocal ranges," says Rob Avery, who has previously performed in multiple bands in the Philly/Delaware area, most notably BoySetsFire in the late 90's and early 2000's. Brad Emmons (drums) and JT Bielan also play regularly with long-time Philly rock veterans, Red Team Go! Son & Heir have crafted a brand of heavy, melodic, post-hardcore that doesn't shy away from their pedigree, but also embraces a unique direction all their own. Son & Heir are looking to release their first EP due out spring of 2016.
