Tennis System ~ Daisy ~ Arch of Love
Add to Calendar
Tennis System channelled years of determination, frustration, and musical and personal growth into a “put it all on the line” mentality that fuels Lovesick, their most accomplished and defining work to date. Seeking to finally capture the raw power of their live presence, the band recruited acclaimed producer/engineer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Gouge Away, Jeff Rosenstock, Oathbreaker) to help realize their vision. “We recorded live to tape and really tried to avoid putting anything on the album that we couldn’t accomplish at a show,” explains Taylor. “We’re a three piece but we know how to sound big.” That might actually be an understatement on Lovesick opener “Shelf Life,” an explosive masterclass on loud/quiet dynamics, which earns every second of its nearly six minute runtime as it builds to a wall of gorgeous noise that would make Kevin Shields proud. Its lyrics also lay out the album’s stakes: your time to follow your passion is limited, so make it count.
