WAX WAV is a DIY punk rock band from Philadelphia, PA. Another one of those? Yes.

In November of 2016, 3 members of Philadelphia indie rockers The Danger O's, Nick Palmer, Justin Johnson and Abe Koffenberger, decided it was time for a change. The drummer and singer switched places. Bassist Andrew Krause of A Victim of Good TImes was recruited. A dozen songs were written, the first show was played in February of 2017, and in November of 2017, former National Rifle keyboardist Lynna Stancato was welcomed aboard.

WAX WAV has played very loud music in front of people who compared what they heard to the Clash, Jawbreaker and Against Me. The Deli Magazine wrote of the EP, "hardwiring into a familiar desire to break loose, while simultaneously fighting to hold it together, the group feels akin to such acts as The Replacements"

The debut EP1 was made available on BandCamp and SoundCloud on 11/3/2017 and will be released as a zine on 1/26/2018 on local imprint Aqualung Records.

Reviews/nice statements: “Causing a stir in Yorkshire and further afield, York’s Bull is the perfect meeting point of early-1990’s American slacker rock and classic British song-writing.'' - Louder Than War "Their 90s tinged alternative rock music recalls all the best, and most emotive, skyscraping riffs sounds coming from the likes of Pavement, Dinosaur Jr. and The Pixies, as well as the likes of Smashing Pumpkins and Wolf Alice" - Soundsphere Magazine "...masters of reviving lost genres, bringing early 90s' Californian surfer rock...they drew influence from the Pixies during crowd pleasers 'Bonzo, Please' and 'Green', but there were also elements of Bob Dylan" - Graeme Smith, CALM "Bull gave a flawless performance demonstrating the kind of professionalism that only comes through relentless gigging." Trawler Music - Hull "Songwriter Tom Beer is the lyrical force fronting this exciting four-piece. They are moving too fast to be labelled. Their repertoire defies categorisation, swooping between garage pop evoking the spirit of the Ramones or the Velvet Underground, then the next minute taking you into the shoegazey territory of Ride or Slowdive from the mid 1990s.'' - York Mix Magazine
