Dezorah
Dezorah
DEZORAH is a post progressive band from McAllen, TX. Formed in 2014 by guitarist Eric Martinez and vocalist Danica Salazar, the duo joined forces shortly after with drummer Trey Puga, bassist Daven Martinez and guitarist Jonathan Garza to released their first EP in 2016 titled Tierra Eterna. In the years to come, the bands musical style has evolved to feature aggressive, charging drums and bass, distorted and melodic guitars and a blend of gloomy and eager vocal melodies that reflect high energy and burying anxiety. These elements and more are explored in the bands upcoming sophomore release titled Creando Azul. The five song EP was produced and mixed by Audio Engineer Alex Bhore at Elmwood Studio in Dallas, TX and mastered by Mastering Engineer Sarah Register in New York, NY. Creando Azul is scheduled for release in May 2018 followed by extensive touring both regionally and nationally.

Notable acts DEZORAH has directly supported include SPARTA, Le Butcherettes, Xenia Rubinos, and have also been featured in festivals with acts such as Downtown Boys, Helado Negro, and Power Trip.

Yarrow
Yarrow
Yarrow is both a pummeling machine and a wistful dream, a self-stylized doomgaze trio that oscillates between oceanic waves of melody and the force of the wave itself. Named for a feathery flower with medicinal properties, the band reveals its stark, contrasting elements to the world in dangerous swaths on A Mild Circus, their debut EP released on Get Better Records. Pulled together by Meri Haines when the former Great Weights guitarist hit up Christo Johnson on guitar (King Azaz) and Shawn Gorman on drums, Yarrow spent 2018 honing their noise in some of Philly's finest, dankest practice spaces and in basements disguised as concert halls, lavishly decorated with ambient dust and rusting lawn mower parts. The result is a sound that pulls all of their influences-- both musical and lyrical; both aesthetic and external-- into a tight, cohesive sound. A Mild Circus is a post-In Utero blast of entropy that Bandcamp Daily calls “deliberate, clearly-workshopped chaos, wrought with stark urgency” and “all heavy chords, mathy rhythms, and lyrics that swing from desperate to brooding, like a hyper-kinetic Shellac on a particularly-bad acid trip”. Ultimately, Yarrow are three people looking to make noise in a world that would continue to silence them, lyrically challenging racialized violence, personal regret and gender dysmorphia under sheets of distorted guitar held together by ritualistic percussion-- a formula that shapes a place in the world for the band, their friends, and audiences who have embraced both the calm and the chaos.
